Decisions-Faster Thinking
Need to decide something fast? Most of us have to do some problem solving or make some sort of quick decision at least every week. Sometimes we get brain crossed and we try so hard that it’s almost impossible to feel comfortable with the decision we finally make. Worse yet, we may procrastinate until it doesn’t matter what we decide. What can you do to improve your fast problem and decision making skills?
- “Listen” to your gut feelings. Treat them as data points, not your imagination. Learn to work these feelings into your mental equation.
- Don’t ignore hunches. If you sense you should call someone now; do it.
- Change you routine. Doing something different will allow your brain to tackle problems a different way. For me, it can be as simple as going home a different way.
- Relax. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and imagine something you really enjoy. Take a walk on the beach in your mind for a few minutes and then come back to the decision or problem.
- Test your hunches and gut feelings and catalog your success. Success will breed success.
